On August 1st, Chris Hillman and Herb Pedersen will headline our Brick by Brick stage!
As former members of the legendary Desert Rose Band, Chris and Herb released eight Top Ten US Country singles including two #1 hits (“He’s Back and I’m Blue” and “I Still Believe in You”) before disbanding to pursue solo careers. As a founding member of The Byrds (“Mr. Tambourine Man,” “Turn, Turn, Turn,” “Eight Miles High” and “So You Want to be a Rock and Roll Star”), Hillman was a 1991 inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He has also been a member of several legendary super-groups including: The Flying Burrito Brothers w/Gram Parsons (“Sin City,” “Hot Burrito #1”), Manassas w/Stephen Stills (“It Doesn’t Matter”), and the Souther-Hillman-Furay Band w/JD Souther and Richie Furay (“Fallin’ in Love”.) Aside from the Desert Rose Band, Pedersen was a member of the Dilliards and Old and in The Way w/Jerry Garcia as well as worked with a large variety of performers including: Kris Kristofferson, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, John Denver, Emmylou Harris, and Dan Fogelberg.
Freedy Johnston is an acclaimed singer/songwriter whose music is at once visceral and literate. In 1994, Rolling Stone magazine named Johnston as "songwriter of the year" on the strength of his album, "Perfect World" and hit singles such as "Bad Reputation." Johnston's recent album is "Rain on the City."
Come join us in welcoming Chris Hillman and Herb Pedersen to the Kewaskum Theater!
We'll see you there!
